Albany Center Gallery Art Gallery

The Albany Center Gallery showcases the work of local artists in the Mohawk Hudson Region, an area that encompasses a large radius in the greater Capital District. The gallery displays artists' work in a large area and it uses this space well when it acts as a local farmers' market for area artists to sell their wares. For almost four decades, the exhibits have included mixed-media, photography, paintings, sculpture and video. and today it continues to be a local institution of Art in Albany.

Warm reception - learned about their outdoor sculpture created with local kids! Featured exhibits, as well as artist-made smaller items (cards, jewelry, pottery, etc.).

I just love the new location on Broadway, off of maiden Lane Great gallery space and interesting exhibits showcasing local artists. We have lots of great talent here in the Capital region! Parking is on the street, no free on weekends no after 5 pm on weeknights. Lots of good restaurants and bars in walking distance nearby.

If you have extra time in this terrific little airport, check this out. A first class art gallery with changing exhibitions, open for free to the public, and you don't even need to be flying anywhere. The current exhibition features work by a number of different artists that were also interviewed on the subject of staying power as an artist. Interesting topic, interesting artists, and a variety of different media. If you are traveling with kids, they may enjoy the art. If they don't, the observation deck is right on the other side of a glass wall. Folks in the Albany area probably already know about this place, but it also has meeting rooms for rent. Plan some extra time if you are flying into or out of Albany. It is worth it.

Albany Center Gallery is a gallery with a mission that focuses on artists within a certain mileage radius of Albany. The good news is there are a lot of artists within the perimeter of its avowed mission! And there are a lot of good artists- bothwell known nationally, regionally and locally. The interior of the gallery separates itself into two small viewing rooms and one much larger one. Tall ceilings, well lite rooms make for comfortable viewing. The shows change about every6-8 weeks. So whats not to like? It can be tough to find if you arent familiar with downtown Albany and tough to find parking too. Is it worth the trip? I think so. Its a gallery with an upscale feel both inside and out. But whats important is the work... I caught the end of the High School regional...& like the rest of the shows the gallery offers -its well curated and filked with interesting pieces.
