tripadvisorI stopped in here on a visit to the University. I had a burger. The person was nice and the burger was fine.
MoreHaven't visited in a couple yrs. Last time there I loved everything about it. Not so much today....I ordered french onion soup and it came the same time as my entree-- it wasn't good; the croutons tasted odd. My sandwich had processed turkey but fresh roast beef...I thought 14 bucks for a sandwich with potato chips kinda high. Almost 25 bucks + tip for a simple lunch with no beverage.
MoreI was in Syracuse on business, trying to find a place for lunch. I passed Faegan's several times before deciding to stop in. The waitstaff was very attentive, though it was 2:00 pm so there weren't many patrons in the restaurant. I ordered the Reuben sandwich, which they serve open faced. It tasted good but not great. I think it could use some mustard or horseradish, just something to give a little punch. The menu read that it is served on marbled rye bread, but the bread was a bit stale and seemed like a marbled white bread, not rye. I asked for salad greens as my side, but did not eat it, because there were too many bit of old looking brown lettuce in it. Not a bad meal, just not great.
MoreCharging $10-$20 just to get in the front door to a place that is soooo packed you not only can hardly move but nearly impossible to get drink or order food (because Duke was in town) is not a good way to treat the fans. The Sheraton has no cover charge, more room, more bars, and a band. I won't be back.
MoreStopped in with my son while visiting Syracuse university. The Irish egg rolls were fantastic as was the french dip. The pours on the scotch were a little stingy. Other than that the food was very good and I'll come back again.
