It was obvious that some people had put a good deal of time & effort into re-purposing this lovely old church and the results make for a very pleasant place to view (or perhaps purchase) some nice local art work. The young lady who showed us around was very nice and the work on exhibit had some very nice pieces. This is not an extensive collection, but the local artwork is nicely displayed and if you are in or around the lovely town of Springville, it's worth a stop. We did not see any performances there, so I cannot comment on that aspect,

Friends and I have attended plays, comedy shows and concerts at this venue. The staff make great efforts to bring in entertaining artists, especially April Verch's group from Canada and Penny Whiskey. Beverages and snacks are available during intermission for purchase. Additionally, local artists use the gallery area for presentations, recently one for art glass marbles from a Gowanda, NY artist, Tom Militello. The center also provides classes throughout the year on a variety of mediums, from tatting to watercolors. Plays provide opportunities for community members to participate in local productions. We always enjoy our visits to the center. The only minor drawback is that you need to wear warm clothing during winter months as the center is a bit chilly.

The center for the arts in Springville is turning from an old church into a beautifully renovated theater and art center. Lots of love and elbow grease is paying off. Attended a Sunday afternoon Christmas play. Theater itself is small with tiered seats for easy viewing. Gallery is used during intermission where you can find several paintings / drawings by local artists plus a limited display of pottery, ornaments, small raided rugs, etc and, all for sale. Friendly volunteers and yummy snacks served during intermission. Admire the stained glass windows and church style architecture. Nice venue.
