They could use a little improvements but it looks like they are doing a little work on the place. Plenty of parking. And convenient right behind the farm.

The old Dome Arena, now called the Monroe County Fair & Expo Center, has long served the area as home to the Monroe County Fair. It is a decent-sized dome, which is attached to an additional building for housing more displays. It has traditionally been used to host rowdy events such as rodeos, truck-pulls and other monster-sized truck events. These spectacles have served the community well for fans of that type thing. It has also been home to the Monroe County Fair, which has not improved its image over time. I stopped by today, and they had an RV Show & Sale going on. I saw only one other car besides my own in the parking lot. Not a good sign. This facility has seen better days. Most of the inside cold use some preserving, repainting, and (hopefully not too much) structural work. They are attempting to find a buyer, but I doubt that anyone would take this facility over for too much of a cash outlay. It does not, in my opinion, have a bright future. I would not willingly attend an event there unless I had little choice in the matter.
