Juried shows, artist-curated exhibits , performances by avant-garde musicians and affordable yoga classes for everyone seems to be an eclectic mix of events for a small art gallery in Cambridgeport but it describes perfectly the endeavours of Gallery 263. A non-profit that showcases the works of local and regional artists to promote ' engagement, enrichment and exchange', the gallery aims to empower artists and nurture innovation. Art workshops for children, artists-in-residence programs, musical evenings and several classes of yoga during the week are some of their outreach programs that involve the entire community.

tripadvisorEveryone is really great and friendly, has really nice communication and a beautiful space. I was in a show there a few years ago and it was a really awesome experience.
MoreI entered a fee-based competition for possible inclusion in a Gallery 263 exhibition. Instead of adhering to the specific acceptance/denial notification date stated in the specifications, this gallery, without any communication whatsoever, drug their heels and sent out notifications many days later than originally stated, thus rendering my artworks in limbo and unavailable for consideration or exhibition elsewhere. Upon my pointing this out to them, to my horror, their response did not suggest any plan of rectifying the situation going forward. In fact, they recommended I ...not submit to further opportunities at Gallery 263... Way to go Gallery 263! Shoo away those demanding accountability when you take their money, and proceed with business as usual. (documents regarding this matter available upon request)
MoreAdditional to contemporary art exhibits, artist talks, etc they have yoga, open-mics, live music, author readings, interactive art opportunities and an annual foraged feast fundraiser! If you want to show your art, here's a gallery willing to support new & young artists.
