I thought this was going to be a place where local artists could showcase and sell their work. I dropped in on a random week day, about 20 minutes before they were going to close. I didn’t realize that they essentially operate like a museum when they aren’t hosting events. I had to pay an entrance fee (note: it was full price even though I would only have 20 minutes to explore). There aren’t any “activities” other than exploring all the various spaces and art installations. The art is not for sale and there is no gift shop.Pros: It’s a very large space and each of the different areas are unique and interesting. I imagine that events hosted there are amazing.Cons: It’s not a great family or solo/impromptu activity unless you really enjoy wandering through a unconventional art museum. Also, there are SO MANY taxidermied animals. It felt like there was at least one in every room. If you are an animal lover (like myself), it can be an uncomfortable experience.

Great place for an event. So fun to wander around and look at all the art. If you have a chance, this is a must visit in Rochester.

You HAVE to visit this place if visiting or reside in Rochester! There's so much to see for all ages! Plan to spend at least 2 to 3 hours maybe more. They do offer a behind scenes tour at 2pm(believe everyday) which is a must see! The art Is just wow!

I haven't been here in years. I am admittedly not a huge art lover, but I found their collection of items and sculptures very interesting. Their collection of photography artifacts, cameras, etc. is outstanding! I did not that there are SO many framed pieces and (to me) it seemed, less of the sculptures and art pieces I found interesting.FYI,aAs my friend and I both have mobility issues, we found the uneven floors somewhat o a challenge, but to be expected. The ladies restroom had a step up, which tripped me up coming in - there is a 'watch your step' sign outside, but the area is dark and very close-quartered. The staff was exceptionally kind and friendly. I think we would have had a more difficult time getting around if it was during a crowded weekend day. Everyone inside (except staff) were wearing masks. The outside of the buildings was beautifully done too, with lots to see. There are a LOT of nudes inside, and although it didn't bother me, I would want to know if I were bringing young children. All very artistic, but good to know anyway. All in all, we were glad we went!
