This jeweler, located near the Public Garden, opened in 1796 and is the oldest in the United States. Shreve, Crump and Low sells Rolex watches and other brand names, but is better known for unique items, many of which, surprisingly, are quite reasonably priced. Besides jewelry, the specialties are crystal, china and gifts. This flagship store also offers repairs and appraisals for jewelry and watches. There is another location at The Mall at Chestnut Hill, Newton.

tripadvisorI stopped by Shreve, Crump & Low today while I was out shopping and had an absolutely fantastic experience. Brad was incredible — super knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely went above and beyond to help me. The store is stunning, with the best displays in town, and the whole team was so friendly and welcoming. Truly the best jeweler experience on Greenwich Avenue. Highly recommend!
MoreI highly recommend Shreve, Crump & Low to anyone interested in purchasing a luxury watch. Sam was very helpful and knowledgeable. I live in California and received the watch the next day Express FedEx. I love instant gratification and assurance the product is 100% authentic.
MoreShreve, Crump & Low is a high-end jeweler on Newbury Street in the Back Bay Area of Boston. I had not been able to find anyone who could re-set the functions on my Bell & Ross watch. I was directed to Susan. She was so nice. She very quickly re-set the functions and took the time to explain to me how it works. She really impressed me and I thought, if Shreve, Crump & Low has her on its staff, it is definitely a business that specializes in providing service to its customers. It also carries all the best watch brands. Great place to shop for watches.
MoreI have bought both high end watches from them as well as had watches serviced. This is an excellent jewelry store (not to mention the oldest in the U.S.). They have both excellent employees and managers who stay in very good communication during the service process (if they have to send it out). They also do very good with finding custom pieces or special editions if that's what you are after. They appear to have very good relationships with their suppliers and are able to get just about anything or find it for you if its a difficult piece. Their prices are very fair and they have always been willing to work with me on a price that meets or beats any price I can find on the web from legitimate dealers. I buy a lot of watches and I only buy from SCL now that I live in Boston. I highly recommend them, coming from someone who has bought from jewelers around the U.S. They don't push anything on you and they don't treat you like you have no idea what you are talking about when you are not happy with a price offer (as many stores seem to do).
MoreA man's watch battery for $75? REALLY? That's insane. Stay far, far away. Should be $30 at the most.
