Excellent venue for shows. I try to go to everything they offer because of how convenient it is to get to the Bushnell. Seating options are great and the place is clean. I’ve seen many Broadway features here. Free parking across the street and it’s easy to get in and out.

I've attended half a dozen performances at the Bushnell over the last decade but for me it's not worth the drive or the expense. The parking lots are full of patrons guessing where to park and how to pay based on the decision. The lobby congests with standing room only. The ushers patrol the aisles just before performances barking at folks snapping selfies, then don't say anything to the parents of crying children during performances. By the time the show starts, I'm no longer in the mood for it.

It was New Year's Eve and we decided to try out the Bushnell Center to watch the Broadway production of Six. We have lived all over the US and watched productions in NYC but never here in Hartford. We've always been worried about parking in downtown Hartford and since it was New Year's Eve that made us uneasy. The great news is there are free parking lots right across from the front doors and plenty of parking around the venue. Safety at night was not an issue either. I also noticed plenty of handicapped parking for those who may need it. There are staff and people all around helping to direct traffic, help guests cross the street, and watch the area. We arrived about 45 mins before the start of the production. We found all the people coming to watch the show very friendly and great environment. I think next time we'll go 15 mins or so earlier to get a drink and socialize with others. Once we got into the center we found staff in and outside the building to guide us where to go. The bathrooms were available in great numbers and were clean with no waiting or anything. There were coat checks, concession stands in many different spots to help with the number of people moving throughout the venue, and you can simply scan your digital ticket or paper ticket at the door. You'll also need to have your purse or bag checked (no big deal) and go through metal detectors like any other venue. The staff was very friendly and helpful during the entire process. The doors into the show opened about 30 mins or so ahead of the start so you have time for pictures or other things. Once inside I found the venue had great sound acoustics, very comfortable seating for both me and my 6' 3 tall husband, and the performance was outstanding. Leaving we found the process to be very easy which was to our surprise again. There are many exits to leave the building and in the parking lot. Multiple gates opened up to let everyone out. With a variety of ways to get through downtown and the lights. Overall, we had a terrific experience and I would highly recommend Bushnell Center for Performing Arts. We are very eager to go again!

the play was great, parking was easy and close, only 2 things i didn't like was during intermission they closed the concession stands on the 2nd floor so the line actually ended by the seats it was sooo long. When the performance ended every employee was in such a rush to go home that the entrances had bean closed and that strap across the path was up when i was leaving. and the pretzel was the stalest I ever had.

This was our first time at the Bushnell ... a beautiful theater, very art deco, it reminded us of a mini–Radio City Music Hall, very Rockefeller Center'esque'. Although beautiful, the venue was also very uncomfortable, confined tight seating, no leg room [I'm 5'10 165, a larger person certainly would not enjoy] no arm room, and lack of air conditioning. During the intermission, the AC kicked on briefly, halfway through the second act we wound up standing in the back of the theater for the rest of the play, Neil Diamond’s ‘A Beautiful Noise’ which was outstanding. Personally, I’m not a fan of downtown Hartford, it seems as if everything closes early and there is not much in the immediate area for dining within walking distance of the theater. Free parking next door was a plus and the Bushnell has a café inside that offers salads, wraps, baguet sandwiches, baked goods, and a coffee bar; they also have a full-service bar, mixed drinks, beer, and wine which were half the price of what we've paid at other venues (oakdale, bpt amphitheater, etc).
