tripadvisorWe visited here on 9/20/26 and spent over 5 hours touring the museum. The Plant of Ice special exhibit was very interesting as was the section on the Heinz Company. The glass exhibit and Pittsburgh Innovations were fascinating. We did not have time to tour the Franco Harris Sports museum. The ticket was good for 2 days and given how much there is to see you can easily use 2 days on the museum.
MoreWe visited this wonderful museum for two reason.First, there is a section celebrating Fred Rodger’s of Mr Rodger’s Neighborhood.Part of the set for his show is on display along with puppets, props, some of Fred Rodger’s signature cardigans (kitted by his Mother) etc. There is also a wing dedicated to the Heinz company (as in Ketchup) which was really interesting. There are many other installments with memorabilia from the various stages of Pittsburgh’s evolution and growth.Highly recommend.
MoreAn outstanding experience. The five floors of exhibits are very well displayed with lots of informative information. The display of the French & Indian War of the 1700's was incredible. A great supplement to current Young Washington Movie. The information about the struggle regarding slavery was amazing. The Franco Harris display and sports area was incredible. The building itself is amazing with the stairways. We spent nearly four hours and it was not enough.
MoreThis was a great history center on multiple floors. The sports section including Mario Lemieux lifting the cup was fun to pose with for us Penguin fans. We got the punch card and punched in at every floor so we could get a (very small) pickle pin at the end.
MoreVery nice museum about American history. Good for families with children
