Excellent free tour inside the main building. I also paid for a hard hat hospital tour. Both were fun and entertaining as well as educational. Great way to get to know more. I would recommend. The tour guides were passionate about their interest in preserving this national treasure.

The Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration is incredibly interesting and, for us, was actually the most fascinating part of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island experience. The museum is much more comprehensive than I expected, with exhibits that really help you understand the immigrant experience and the enormous role Ellis Island played in American history. One of the highlights is looking through the Wall of Honor and finding names and connections to your own family history. It makes the experience feel much more personal. The Statue of Liberty is obviously iconic and absolutely worth seeing, but Ellis Island offers much more to explore and learn. If you’re already making the trip to Liberty Island, definitely give yourself plenty of time here as well. For anyone interested in American history or their own family roots, Ellis Island is a must-see.

Booked roof top bar as it advertised fireworks experience. Took CC details and advised min spend $50. See pic attached. Arrived only to find roof top empty, advised no view of fireworks. Roof top lovely but needs AC or mist sprays. Had a cocktail and left. Spoke to manager who was rude and didn’t want to listen that we had booked this as an experience. No apologies. Waste of a night and false advertising.

Ellis Island is without a doubt one of the best experiences in NYC. This museum is a must-visit for history buffs like myself. This museum gave me feelings of hope, but also demonstrates the painful experiences immigrants went through over the years. The exhibits were interactive and featured a variety of topics. I absolutely loved the Memories Left Behind exhibit on the third floor. It gave you a glimpse into various families that entered through this facility. After adventuring, we stopped at the library to try to trace our roots. I was able to find my great-great-grandfather who immigrated from Canada back in the early 1900s. At $10 for 30 minutes to use this service, I think it is well worth it, but be prepared to have some information on hand, or you won't have the luck I did.One last note: I highly recommend visiting earlier in the day, before the crowds start flowing in.

Lovely place to visit, very interesting. Was able to research a relative who travelled to the US in the early 1930's
