If you are in the mood for simple Italian food, where the kitchen only uses a few ingredients, then this place is perfect. Some of the recommendations include polenta, insalata di pane (bread salad), gnocchi or the Tiramisu. Da Gennaro is usually filled with tourists since this is Litte Italy, however don't let that deter you. The kitchen is known for churning out your typical Italian favorites, like ravioli, spaghetti and vongole (clams). If you decide to grab some take-out or delivery, keep in mind that it could take up to 45 minutes to finish, this is NYC after all.
