Vanderbilt Beach Beach

Close by the swanky shops, restaurants and hotels in North Naples, Vanderbilt Beach is a prime location for those who want to escape the glitz and glamour of town. There is plenty of vehicle parking available along Vanderbilt Beach Road, but the umbrellas and picnic baskets on the sand grow fast so be sure to arrive early. Also present are restrooms and showers, a concession stand, bicycles racks, and beach equipment rentals. The beach is open from 8a everyday until sunset.

Vanderbilt Beach is our go-to beach whenever we're in Naples. One of the biggest perks is the parking garage, since street parking fills up quickly, especially during peak times. The restrooms and changing areas are spacious and consistently clean, which is always appreciated after a day at the beach. The soft, white sand is perfect for relaxing in a beach chair or building sandcastles with the kids. The water has a sandy bottom, making it great for swimming, and if you're lucky, you might find a few sand dollars or even have dolphins swim right past you. It's a beautiful beach that never disappoints and is always one of the highlights of our trips to Naples.

If you’re ever in Naples, make sure to check out Vanderbilt Beach. The sand is soft, the water stays warm, and it’s such a nice spot to just spend the whole day. Theres tons of seashells too, so if you’re into collecting, you’ll love it especially earlier in the day. It does get pretty crowded though, so definitely go in the off-season or earlier in the morning.

The beaches along Vanderbilt beach road are currently under a “renourishment” project that has been going on for months. The beach was virtually gone and efforts to replenish have washed out into the water. If you have plans to visit this area, do your homework to find out the status and when the beach will reopen. This beach is part of our regular rotation of beach visits when we come to the Naples/Bonita Springs area. The beach features white sand and pretty clear water along the shore in the summer. Although on this visit it had more seaweed than usual at entry. The beach can get crowded, even in the summer when tourism in this area is low. It is next to the Ritz Carlton's guest beach so space on a crowded day can be compacted. You have to be a guest of the hotel to use the Ritz beach but you can hike to the other side for more public beach. It is a hike but worth it if you want to avoid the crowd and have some seclusion. There is a parking garage adjacent to the beach with plenty of parking. You pay a daily rate via QR code. The rate is reasonable. The garage elevator always seems to out of order so if you are hauling beach chairs, etc. be advised. There is restroom facilities next to the garage but if you are at the beach it is a bit of a walk to the restrooms during your visit. There are no life guards but the county patrols the beach. There are jet ski rentals available at this beach.
