tripadvisorI hadn't been to the fair in several years. I was disappointed in the changes. It was way too loud. I couldn't even communicatie with the person I was with. It was too compacted together. The rodeo was so loud that I had to hold my ears the whole time. There were babies and small children in the rodeo stands with no ear plugs. I missed the mobile home exhibits and the camper exhibits. It just seemed like in years past, the fair was more spread out and there were more things to do besides the rides and the indoor exhibit. I liked walking through and getting some fair food but it would have been nice if I could had heard what my friend was saying without having to repeat and talk so loud to be heard.
MoreSecond year being at the Texas Circuit Finals and it was the same as last year…freezing inside and loud. The air conditioner is always on full blast and people have blankets around them. I always have to wear my jacket and I’m still cold. I tried to order coffee at the concession stand but the two I went to, said that nobody brought their coffee machines. If we’re here again next finals, I should probably bring a Snuggie to not shiver!
MoreGet em up cowboys, we went to the Fair and Rodeo in October and the rodeo is always a good event to watch. The fair has lots of rides, and exhibits to look at and a barn yard. This facility is also used for Large meetings, dinners, camping venues and lots of other events. there is a horse barn on site and they have all kinds of livestock shows and events. The facilities are clean and climate controlled.
MoreMost recently I went here to see Rodney Carrington and previously I saw Ron White here. Both time we were able to get into the parking area very easily. Parking was close to the facility so we didn't have to walk very far compared to other venues I have visited. Once we got to the doors we found it easy to get inside. We arrived about 45 minutes early for Rodney and found no wait at the doors despite it being a sold out show. For Ron White we arrived a little later but still found it easy to get in. Once inside we had no issues getting concessions or finding a restroom. The facility is big enough to host a lot of people but not so large that everything is so spread out it is difficult to find. Both times I had floor seats which even though for Ron White were near the back of the floor were very nice. Again, the floor size is big enough for several rows of chairs but not so big that any row is particularly far from the stage. Even those people in the regular seats looked to be close enough to have a pretty good sight of the stage. I have been to concerts at other facilities where the seats were not as close as this. And unlike other LARGE venues like AT&T stadium we were able to exit after the show with no hassles at all. Everyone on the floor was able to just get up and walk to the exits with minimal pauses. It was all very smooth getting back to the parking area and then because parking was so close to the building we were able to get in our car and out of the parking lot in no time. It was less than 5 minutes from getting out of my seat to exiting the parking area. I'm not sure what else they may host at this place but it seems to be popular for some comedians and musicians and is one of the best places I have been to for these shows just because it allows everyone to get close to the stage and really enjoy or be a part of the show.
