tripadvisorThe hall itself dates back to the original layout of the school so there is a lot of history there. A new art gallery has been added as part of the performace arts program. Saw a great performance by the students and am glad we bought a subscription for this year's upcoming events.
MoreSaw Lunasa at Sacred Heart's Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts. The venue is very nice as it is a comfortable space with excellent acoustics. Drinks are available for purchase and the attached art gallery is a nice place to stretch your legs during intermission. Ticket prices are reasonable and they have an interesting selection of performers. Parking can be a bit time consuming because the parking lots are full when school is in session.
MoreEdgerton center is the new name for SHU performing arts center a late 50's hall updated with a nice new lobby and art gallery. Some good national music acts and typical collage/local acts, good childrens theather . If you have not been on the SHU campus in a few years you will really be surprised how much has grown
MoreI visited SHU for an Open House in mid-October and learnt of their extensive theatre arts program. I picked up a brochure and decided to try one of their new shows... Right in the heart of SHU ('scuse the pun...), we saw Tick Tick Boom (a Jonathan Larson script) in the super small Little Theatre. No reserved seating, so we arrived about 20 minutes early, found our tickets at Will Call, and joined the already-getting-long line at the doors to the theatre. General admission once inside, though I can't imagine there's a single bad seat in the place (unless you're super short and end up right at the back). I didn't realise we would be seeing actors so young ... but oh! the talent! Mind-blowing. Only three students on stage (you couldn't really fit any more, it's so small), but all incredibly talented and with superb voices. Lots of young adults and family members in the audience, obviously there to support those on stage. All round a fantastic production, and I wouldn't hesitate to return to see another show.
MoreThis center is part of Sacred Heart University so the actors are students. They give remarkably good performances; some downright professional. Ticket prices are cheap and there are no reserved seats, so arrive early if you want good seating.
