The Richard M. Park nature center sits adjacent to a variety of trails that lead around the nature center. The nature center itself displays a variety of wildlife drawings and figures with short descriptions. Trails lead you through open fields, wooded areas, and even small meeting areas along trails where a presentation may be held. Trails are generally well maintained grass/dirt with adequate trail markers along the way.

Just a great time with my grandson showing him all the animals in the display. The walk on the trails during fall is beautiful!

Nixon Park Nature Center is an ideal family attraction in York County, and it's not too far from the actual city. There are adult and child accommodations for visitors.

The museum has lots of mounted animals, many full size. Includes donated collections of butterflies and rare birds. Large dinosaur murals. Park like areas and hiking trails. Also has a few live displays including a honeybee hive. There were families with children there and the kids were having fun. In the bird feeder viewing area, there were seats for adults and plenty of children's books to entertain the kids.

We have been to Nixon Park many times. We hiked on our own and have taken guided walking tours. We have attended several educational sessions to learn about birds, plants and many different things.Inside is a mini museum which everyone should visit as well while there. It is fun just to sit and watch the birds at a viewing area.
