Rice Park, a public square since 1849, serves as an outlet for anyone who needs to relax or downtown workers who just want to eat lunch away from their desks. Make a wish in the giant fountain that dominates one corner of the park. Faced by the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, the main St. Paul Public Library, Landmark Center, and the St. Paul Hotel, the park is a peaceful, shady haven. Free concerts held in the summer are a joy to all. Winter brings the ice sculptures carved for the St. Paul Winter Carnival; you can watch the carvers in action and enjoy them afterward.

tripadvisorSmall park in downtown Saint Paul. Dog friendly. Cool views of the cathedral, science museum, and downtown. Peanuts statues, herb brooks, Scott Fitzgerald statues
MoreThis park has a large fountain as well as a large grassy area with some benches and shaded areas. Two of the three sets of Peanut statues are located here, as well as the F. Scott Fitzgerald statue.
MoreArguably the most attractive urban space in the city of Saint Paul. The park is quaint and is flanked by the beautiful Landmark Center, the impressive George Latimer Public Library, the historic Saint Paul Hotel and the fabulous Ordway Performing Arts Center. There are several great nearby restaurants. The area is especially stunning during Christmas when decorations are on display and the outdoor skating rink is in operation.
MoreOn my very quick visit to MN I came across this park, whipped out my trusty smart phone and quickly understood why that cartoon character was so prominent - super snowy and cold - and decorated for Christmas so so pretty it was lovely. With the Landmark and Library at opposite ends of the park it reminded me of Brugge....strange but true.
MoreThis is a beautiful small park in downtown St. Paul that severs as an entryway to the library, the Landmark Center, and the Ordway Theatre. It is particularly pretty during the holidays, the winter carnival and spring/fall (trees). Many people also visit to see the Peanuts comic statues scattered throughout this area of Charles Schultz's hometown.
