I chose the manger special because I didn’t care what kind io of “car” I got. Arrived in mesa az. The desk guy said you get a 12 set van which would never fit in a normal parking spot. He said that is all that is available. They made me pay $18 per day extra to get a normal car which was probably the manager special. I will never use dollar again or a manager special at any rental cat co.

Rating based on agent’s customer service once we reached him. His name was Chris. Saturday night March 28th around 10 pm. Huge line at for this location. Online was not working. Chris was polite, calm, efficient, fast, and professional. There were three other staff members there part of the time we were there. He was moving customer line out. The others were not. Thank you, Chris, for your great work that night.

Do NOT rent from this location!!! They use predatory practices and recently scammed my elderly parents out of approximately $400 by charging them for daily insurance AND roadside assistance after my 77 yr old father vhemently REFUSED those services when picking the vehicle. They were added to my parents contract regardless and my father called customer service the next day- a phone call that was heard by 4 adults. My father was told the representative made a note on the account and he simply needed to talk to the desk agent at Phoenix airport Dollar Rental and inform them he called to ask for charges removed. The representative NEVER NOTED ANYTHING IN THE ACCOUNT AND MY PARENTS WERE LAIGHED AT UPON RETURNING THE CAR AND CHARGED FOR ALL UNNECESSARY, UNWANTED SERVICES. DO NOT RENT FROM PEOPLE WHO PREY ON THE ELDERLY!!!!

Dollar/Thrifty Phoenix airport car rental. This was a very negative start to our vacation. At least 10 people in line with only 2 staff members where there 6 or more counter stations. One customer was at the desk for at least 25 minutes. I noticed a sign with a QR code. Well, I could bypass the line if I paid $27 or so. Really?! Never again will we rent from Dollar or Thrify. On the way home, we noticed another long line of customers!

There were cars to choose from and they were all very dirty. Then when we returned the vehicle, they charged us for damage that was there when we took the car.
