A serene stretch of lush green trees and bushes, Rivanna Trail is a great place to spend a quiet moment in the bustling city. One of the most picturesque spots in the city, the lengthy trail is great for an early morning jog or a walk, with the sweet sounds of bird-calls in the background. Accessible through two major roads, this is where you should head to, when you're looking to for a healthy break, or to just enjoy the view.

tripadvisorDo not go. The city has allowed the homeless population to explode along the trail. Dirty needles, feces, threats of violence. First time I’ve ever felt this unsafe in Charlottesville. Monticello has a clean, safe trail-avoid Rivanna at all costs.
MoreGreat for trekking, strolling or running; lovely views of the river and countryside. Still adventuring around the trials of which there are loads.
MoreTA has no address, used TA to Google maps, but took us way out nowhere, phone number didn’t workIt took us down a gravel road for 2 miles that ended in some guys driveway. Very nice drive but out in nowhere with no cell signal
MoreVery peaceful place to take a walk along the river. It would have been a nice place to bike, as well. Oh well, maybe next time!
MoreThe Rivanna River is beautiful and the trail is best when it follows the river. Certain parts were not directly along the River and were not as attractive. Not the best river trail I’ve walked but worth the time and effort.
