Reviews
tripadvisorThe hotel is undergoing an upgrade. That said everything was still great. I was working overnight and sleeping during the day and didn’t notice the work going on. The breakfast was great and the staff was super friendly. Giselle at the front desk arranged for an early check in and was super helpful and friendly at check in. It will continue to be my go to hotel when I’m in Bakersfield.
MoreI’ve stayed at this hotel on multiple occasions, it used to be a nice stay, however recently with the changes they made it’s become very unpleasant. The AC runs on a motion sensor now and it’s extremely hot when I return to my room after work and when sleeping it turns off and I have to get up throughout the night to turn on back on. Check in is supposed to be at 3pm, however my room has been consistently not ready till after 5:30 pm. The breakfast is good, a different selection almost every morning and always tasty. The rooms are fairly clean however there are many spots where wallpaper is peeling, walls have cracks, there’s hair on the shower walls. The location is nice, in a good spot. And with the new changes they’ve made, the price has also increased, which is not something I’m happy about either.
MoreChecking in online and choosing a room means nothing even if you’re a Diamond member. The hotel has really gone downhill since the new owners took over. Best advice is to look at the room before you accept it. The room we finally ended up with after being bumped around a few times was disgusting. Unfortunately the 1 bedroom suites are limited and we were told we had no other option. The room reeked of stench, air freshener to cover it up, has mold everywhere and we found bugs in the room last night. I barely slept and we left ASAP this morning - no shower or breakfast just left. Breakfast is marginal however they do serve Starbucks coffee which is a plus. Other than the girl who checked us in the other employees were great especially Erin and Alex. I did let Hilton corporate office know my concerns. They were appreciative I reached out and assured me my concerns will be addressed.
MoreQuiet and safe location away from major traffic areas. Parking lot is VERY well lit and security cameras are in plain view, if that is a concern (it was for us). Pleasant lobby and breakfast area, with a good breakfast. There was some peeling wallpaper in bathroom, and some of the surfaces show wear, but it was clean and more than adequate for a 1-night stay on the road.
MoreElizabeth and her team were very professional and polite. They really go beyond the norm to ensure that you're comfortable, and the hotel was immaculate. They even gave me a list of local restaurants in my goodie bag!
