tripadvisorOver six nights the Rock Orchestra performed the entire Beatles discography with every instrument and musician present in the records. We seen the 6th and last night and the set was Abbey Road and Let It Be. Really fantastic show full of hard working local artists. I’ve seen a lot of people do less with more. The venue is sorta run down but it’s a most volunteer drama club and it had no bearing on my evening.
MoreGREAT holiday family show this year! Directed by Rebecca May Flowers from Philadelphia, this show has some outstanding musical and dancing talent. Take a trip to see this - you won't be disappointed!!
MoreThis community based theater (mostly volunteers) is awesome! Before you go, check to see what the audience is for current show. We've been to several ones. Some are adult, some adult and teens, and some for everyone. Our last show was Alice in Wonderland and we had a blast. If you live near by, they also offer classes for children at a VERY affordable rate. They also have a snack bar (with adult beverages too) open during every show. You are allowed to bring them in the theater area and eat while you watch the show. Great way to get the family to enjoy some time together. Skip that next movie and enjoy a show!
MoreCame to see The Civil War because it's our favourite musical. Didn't know what to expect, since we're from out of state. It's a small venue, but seats are spacious and comfortable. The show was quite well done, especially in light of its community nature. Judging from the program, the cast was not Broadway type professionals, but they did a very commendable job nonetheless. My wife and I see a lot of musicals, both at major venues and local, and The Wilmington Drama League certainly put on a good show that was well-worth the ticket price and then some. If you're looking for West End quality, well, no, you won't find it here. But if you are interested in community-based but good quality performances, you can do far worse than to pay these folks a visit. We paid $20 each for a ticket, and it was money well spent. I wish, though, they would enforce the no cell phone, no photo rule. The people in front of us were filming the show with their phones the whole time. One time even a flash came on, and no one from the theatre said anything to them. Lots of parking in a shopping center lot across the street.
