If you are looking for high-quality local art, the Newark Arts Alliance is the place to go. First and foremost, it’s a gallery space that each month features individual artists or group shows around a theme. At the outset of each show, they usually host a reception at which you can meet the artist(s). The artwork is well-selected, and is tastefully displayed.A good part of the floor space is devoted to retail sales of member artists’ work, including paintings, sculpture, jewelry, and printed materials like greeting cards. Prices are reasonable, and there are seasonal items available around holidays.NAA is also a studio and learning center for the community. Classes are available for all ages and ability levels. The Newark Garden Tour is one of the highlights of the year. There is ample (free) parking, a rarity in this town!
