Located on the 73rd floor of the Columbia Center, the Sky View Observatory provides unobstructed views of Mount Rainier, the city, Elliot Bay, the Space Needle, Olympic Mountains, Bellevue and more. Popular among tourists and locals alike, this landmark is the tallest public observatory west of the Mississippi, reaching nearly 1,000 feet (304 meters) . Visitors pay a small fee to ride the elevator up and experience the breath-taking view. Visit in the evenings to take advantage of the spectacular sunset, but be sure to get there an hour before closing when the last tickets are sold for the night.

tripadvisorWe came here a day after visiting the space needle. Oh my goodness, I am so glad we did! The space needle is great, but views-wise, this takes the cake. The views were absolutely stunning. Everyone was wonderful. The receptionist was amazing. The worker on the elevator was great. The bartender was amazing. We purchased the elite package and I loved having a mimosa and looking at the view. The space needle looks small compared to this. Give it a try!
MoreMy Dad and I spent an afternoon at the top of the Columbia Center tower at the SkyView Observatory. The views are great. The history of the area, geography, and tower are told in easy and accessible ways. The price is right. If you are looking to avoid the lines and the sky-high prices of the Space Needle (all puns intended), definitely check out the Sky View Observatory at the Columbia Center tower. It is worth it!
MoreThis is our 3rd time here. The children enjoy it every time we come. We brought my loves' mom. There was a very enthusiastic, friendly young woman by the name of Fatima. She was amazing with the kids and took a family picture for us. It's always a greater experience when the employees go out of their way to say hi . Love it ❤️
MoreNot as famous as the space needle, but the views were on par. It is also possible to get views and take pictures of the needle from the observation deck. Plan for a clear day.
MoreDear Jean,Thank you for your response. To clarify, the refund I am requesting is specifically for the Observatory Tower. I understand the Sky View Observatory was closed, but my request pertains to the closure of the Observatory Tower on the day of my scheduled visit.I appreciate your understanding and look forward to your assistance with this matter.Kind regards,PatriciaI purchased a ticket for Monday, 16th September, 2024 from Get your Guide but ithe venue was closed on that day. If the venue was not open, the ticket should not have been sold. Unfortunately, the closure was not made clear during the booking process and to be honest, should not have been sold. When traveling internationally, one naturally relies on the booking operator to provide accurate information, and in this case, that trust was misplaced. Get your Guide response was disappointing as their response relies on terms and conditions rather than addressing the issue directly. They have put the onus on us to say we should have checked that the venue was open but surely if it wasn't open they shouldn't have been able to sell the ticket for that date.
