We had a great six night stay. The property has a small boutique hotel feeling to it. We thought it was great value. Our room was clean, comfortable with a well equipped little kitchen and top floor with a view toward the Potomac. Small Italian restaurant in the lobby that had very good reasonably priced Italian dishes. They offer breakfast as well but we ate in every morning. The location was great. 20 minute walk to the Lincoln Memorial end of the National Mall, an hour to the rear of the Capitol, under ten minutes to the Western Market area and a few blocks to Georgetown. The hotel was very quiet at night, we never heard neighboring guests. The staff is very attentive and very welcoming.

The River Inn is one of the best hotels we have stayed at, out of many. Home away from Home is an apt description. The well-trained staff cannot do enough for you and truly put the customer first. The whole staff was great, and we thank Saif for making sure all was well with us each day and especially for nailing down our ride to the airport. Our suite was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a full kitchen. The bed was superb. The on-site Italian restaurant has tasty food with generous portions. The hotel is in a mostly residential area adjacent to George Washington University in Foggy Bottom. It is minutes in walking from the Metro, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and a CVS Pharmacy. The White House and Lincoln Memorial are each about a mile away and walkable, but in addition to the subway and buses, taxis are numerous and reasonably priced. I researched many hotels before deciding on the River Inn. We hope to return to DC someday and will only stay at the River Inn. It's an outstanding hotel!

Lovely comfortable hotel. Conveniently located. As short Uber or Red cab ride $12-$16 to most attractions. The red cabs were often more convenient with similar pricing. Excellent public transportation access. Exceptional staff whose main priority is the guest’s comfort and satisfaction. Ashley at the front desk provided maps and information as we checked in—without our requesting it. This info was very helpful during our trip. I can’t compliment the staff enough. Ashley, Jasmin, and Natasha were the three. We had the most interaction with. Any problem that arose was addressed immediately. At 4 AM my daughter was leaving for the airport. Her prescheduled Uber was 40 minutes late. Natasha took on the problem like it was her own ride to the airport at steak. She found us a taxi that arrived in less than five minutes. Kudos to Natasha! You can’t be 45 minutes late going to the airport. Unfortunately, Uber charged for the cancellation. The red cab might be a safer bet. We had breakfast every day at the Matera restaurant. The service and the staff were wonderful. We ate dinner there one evening and we’re very pleased. If you’re looking for an excellent place to stay, in a great location, with incredible staff, and a delicious in-house restaurant, you can’t go wrong with The River Inn in Foggy Bottom.

Great location with Georgetown atmosphere. Room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

When a woman travels alone, the River Inn is an ideal hotel where she can feel very comfortable and warmly welcomed.
