Mother & baby Matters is a highly specialized and comprehensive maternal-infant-family doula service in the Washington DC Metro area designed to support mothers and their families during the wonderful but overwhelming time surrounding childbirth, or adoption of a newborn. The goal of our program is to assist the new mother and her partner in creating a personally fulfilling birth and postpartum experience. Motherly care and guidance are provided by a professional staff of doulas, (pronounced Doo-la) a Greek word for those who mother the mother. These doulas can be either labor support birth doulas or postpartum (after the birth) doulas.
