It is so wonderful that they have a mask mandatory week/several mask mandatory shows. I didn't know that mask mandatory shows still existed and am so happy to have found this through a COVID group! We saw the nutcracker and it was great. Very creative, great puppet work and great special effects. Looking forward to going back.

The puppet show itself was great but I am giving this business one star because they forced us and our children to wear masks during the entire show which was really obnoxious since the Covid emergency period is over and the virus is as serious as a common cold now. The puppet show lady was the only one of us who didn’t have to wear a mask either which made no sense at all. The masking clearly wasn’t to protect people, it was to make a political statement. Also, when we bought our tickets it didn’t say anywhere that masks would be required so we wouldn’t have come had we known. They should have made masks optional like every other place in America has done since the emergency has been declared over.

Jack and the Beanstalk was fun and entertaining. The setting is both comfortable and casual with the kids sitting up front to enjoy the show. Great to have my girls enjoy a live performance.

The Puppet Playhouse resides in the Arcade building at Glen Echo Park, and it's a fantastic resource for kids of all ages in the DC area. Exquisite puppets, terrific dramas voiced by great actors...all set in the country's only theater designed and built from the ground up expressly for puppet productions. A great place to bring your kids...or just go yourself. Wonderful!

I thought this would be a good activity for my six year old grand daughter, but honestly I loved it too.The performers manage to provide the unexpected delight in a very old medium of expression.
