tripadvisorAn extensive old property, but very well kept. Parking is ok but bit of a challenge to walk to mansion. The second floor has extensive paintings by local artists easy to get to with elevator. Well done! A few periods rooms . Had fun watching a bride being photographed on the grounds. Check website before as closed for events periodically.
MoreBuilt by the BOWIE FAMILY before during & after the CIVIL-WAR...Visited by REBEL as well as UNION Forces...A great to GROW-UP around....A HOT-SPOT for SLEGH Riding as a KID...The FALL CLASSIC-CAR SHOW was a MUST for us KIDS....
MoreThe front door was unlocked during my visit on New Year's Eve. There was no staff, no other visitors here except me!Upstairs on the Second Floor, paintings and some sculptures are on display. I noted the presence of many bathrooms both on this floor as well as downstairs! I took pictures of some of these items on display.Outside the mansion, there is a beautiful garden, manicured lawn, ample parking spaces. Other attractions are also located near it such as the Croydon Creek Nature Center, Rockville Little Theater, F. Scott Fitzgerald Theater and Rockville Cemetery. Highly recommended to visit them all!
MoreWide open spaces, special art areas indoors and out. Great for any time of year. Really a special place.
MoreArt show are in and out o here so going every so often is a treat. As part of the Civic Center you get a triple blessing. There is a theater there with plays and musicals, tennis courts, a hill for sled riding and just an all around good place to visit. There is at least one car show a year and it is worth going.
