Love this theater. The campus is beautiful and the students are so warm and welcoming, not to mention fantastic performers. Not a bad seat in the house, every seat has great views. It is a smaller venue, over 300 to 400 or more seats. The sound system is very good. Close enough anywhere you sit to really get a very good glimpse of all going on,on the stage. The reception area is a bit smaller but accommodating. Area to go outside during break time also. Every theater event we have attended here has been fabulous. You surely can't beat the price for wonderful entertainment. The parking is in their free parking garage, usually a golf cart takes people up to and back from the theater area. Or you just can take a short walk past the arena area. Just a hint to you, you can now order the tickets on line which is great now, but so you know if you want to take advantage of the senior discount or military you should call in your reservation for tickets and put your tickets on will call to get those discounts. Tickets will be available to you when you get to the performance. You will enjoy this!

i have had the privilege of attending two productions (both musicals) at this Grand Canyon University campus theatre. It seats 311 and every seat is a great seat. The students, alumni and faculty do an outstanding job. I was able to see, Oklahoma (in 2015) and just last week, Of Thee I Sing.(10/23/2016). Everything is right in front of you and the production is done well so that the audience is satisfyingly transported to the era that is being presented. High praise all the way around to the actors and crew. If I lived in the Phoenix area, I would definitely support the performing arts and be sure to check out the productions presented at Ethington Theatre..

GCU has come a long way over the years. Have been going to GCU theater for a few years now and have to say this time they have done a fantastic job of the campus. Added a really nice covered multi level parking garage, nice entrance, arena area all built up and very nice grounds. They have golf carts to pick you up at the garage entrance and drive you to the theatre. The walk from the garage is short but nice, past the arena and grounds. The theater is very nice , approx. 200-250 or so seating. Good knee space. You can see well from every seat. And you feel like you are right there up close and personal with the actors. Good sound system. Very nice box office people and all the greeters and theater seat escorts are so fantastic and friendly, all of them are super great students. Have not seen a bad play yet. They truly have a wonderful mix of plays and they also have winter and spring dance concerts. The plays run from September to March with a break in December and January for the concerts and April concert. The plays usually run a couple weekends evenings each of those play months, with Sunday matinees. 2 hours of wonderful entertainment by the theater students. And for you seniors out there you sure can't beat the $10.00 admission tickets. All others are $12.00 which is truly a great price. You now can see the seating chart on their website, and can call to order the tickets for will call , which is a very quick pick up before the play that same day and can even order season tickets. I have seen long lines at the rest rooms which are small, sometimes not enough time to get back into the theater. The lobby area is not large but very adequate, however the rest room lines go into that lobby area. Most of the plays are suitable for families. Did notice just recently at Mousetrap, the children in the audience were very fidgety and more interested in snacks.(not allowed in the theater) No kids under 3 years old. Overall, a very nice venue with great entertainment.

Entering the campus is a very nice experience. We have been here a couple years ago and now they have done a fantastic job remodeling, adding on arenas and buildings and a parking garage. The theatre holds 300 people, every seat has good views since it is only 300 people, lots of leg room. The stage is close to the people so you feel like you are right there with the actors. Also very good sound system. You have to call for tickets, no online orders, pick up your tickets just before the play. Very helpful ticket people. They offer free GCU student tickets, military, senior discounts. Our tickets were only 10 bucks each. That was such a great deal for such a fantastic venue. It would be a great add on to put a lay out of the theater seating on the website to help when calling to order even though the order people are very good with helping with that choice..We saw Scarpin, very funny, great acting and improv. Got the audience involved too. This is a great venue for plays and small concerts. All of the students hold the doors open, greet you with open arms, guide you to parking,so friendly.
