This small 2.64-acre (1.07 ha) park created a time-warp sensation in the midst of booming Cy-Fair. Limited off-street parking was in small paved lots off Hempstead Road. The park’s primary attractions were its historical buildings – two homes, a service station, a hall, a tool shed, a railroad depot, a general store, and a barbershop. A picnic pavilion had 18 picnic tables. Stone-paved walking paths had easy grades. The park preserved a remnant of a mid-19th century railroad community. The museum’s buildings were only open one day a week, and not when I was there. The Cypress Historical Society’s office was onsite. A nearby Texas historical marker provided helpful context for the place when that office was closed. I least liked the limited hours available for looking at exhibits inside the buildings. I most appreciated the sharing of Texas’s local heritage with modern Texans.
