Federal Hill Park is a pristine park offering spectacular views of the Inner Harbor and a wonderful, fenced-in play area for the kids, complete with slides, a sandbox and monkey bars. Dogs are also welcome. While you're visiting the park, take a moment to learn about one of Baltimore's most prominent citizens. A monument details the life of Major General Samuel Smith, who helped defeat the British attack on Baltimore during the War of 1812. He went on to become a Congressman, then president of the Senate and, finally, mayor of Baltimore.

tripadvisorWe started our day in Baltimore at Federal Hill Park. Great views of the waterfront in Baltimore. We were trying to see Fort McHenry from the hill and that wasn't possible because of everything that's built up in that direction, but it was cool to point out everything we could see. Lots of homeless people around, but still lots of moms with kids playing and well maintained park with beautiful flowers.
MoreThis is a city park located in an historic district that is also one of the most upscale parts of town. It is well-maintained and a pleasure to visit. We sat and rested and looked at the nature.
MoreTake a quick walk up to this unassuming park that overlooks the inner harbor. There are some benches, a cannon, & as I recall - small playground. Probably about a 20 minute stroll around the perimeter.
MoreNo need to go to the Top of the World Observation Level. The view from here is as good as that and in addition it is free, you get fresh air and a nice walk.
MoreLovely and relatively clean park at the top of the hill overlooking the harbor. There is a stroller/wheelchair friendly path to the top wrapping around the park, so no need to contend with stairs. No public restrooms at the top though.Another bonus - it was far less crowded with tourists than the general harbor area.
