tripadvisorThe park is so peaceful that one would never know the beltway/interstate is nearby. I was surprised to see this relatively large park on the map, and after winding through several residential roads, I finally found the entrance. Clearly, local people have no such trouble. Individuals, dog owners, and families with children were seen throughout on the well-kept paths, the playing fields, and relaxing on benches. There were two baseball fields, two large playsets, and 3 or 4 pavilions. I was particularly impressed by the path along the stream that bubbled and tumbled over beautiful cascades of rock. This hidden gem is a valuable neighborhood and county resource.
MoreNice park but they lock the bathrooms early. So bring your own TP because you may be squatting in the woods.
MoreGrew up right down the street! This park has been a HUGE part of my life! I know my parents played ball at this park prior to me playing ball here. Baseball and football! Parkville patriots!! Park is amazing!! A walk through the woods is so peaceful and serene!!! I now to my daughter here to play and run through the woods and playgrounds. Three generations have enjoyed this beautiful place!
MorePlayed baseball and football on the fields...played on the big playground area....followed the stream and tried to catch the minnows....
MoreI've been going to Double Rock Park since I was about 5 years old. I am now 59. The park has gone through a lot of changes since I was a kid. All for the better. The stream that runs through it is actually 2 streams. It runs over rocks that we used to climb about as children love to do. There is a pavillion at the back of the park that is nice for a family gathering. There is three baseball diamonds to play softball for a company picnic. They used to have summer movie nights to watch on the football field. There used to be a concession stand where they sold hotdogs and snowballs. I grew up playing every weekend with friends at this park and it holds a piece of my heart. I've played baseball and football there.
