tripadvisorLocated in downtown Hartford, this plaza is located on the Connecticut River at the end of the Founders Bridge that connects Hartford to East Hartford. Nice views of the river and there is a stage with seating on a grassy terrace for special events.
MoreWe found the waterfront because we were looking for the Lincoln Sculpture Walk. The walk is a collection of 16 sculptures about Lincoln and different aspects of history surrounding him. I liked the mix of modern and traditional sculptures. Each piece has a quote and statement reflecting Lincoln, his thoughts and actions. It was a little difficult to find the Walk (it's not well marked) but the Riverfront Plaza is easy to find. The sculptures (for the project) are scattered along the riverfront with several being in the Plaza proper. It's easy to walk, pleasantly shaded and amazing views of Hartford from almost any part. All that we saw was very clean and well placed.
MoreThe grounds are clean area. Good place you can see some boats on the river. During the year they have River Races and Concerts . So many place to walking round Hartford area. They have some Museums in the walking area for the family.
MoreI always wondered from I84 what was along the river . The Connecticut river is really wide. They have a walking area and grounds for special events. Nicely done
MoreNot only are the views beautiful, there are statues all over the plaza and the park. Benches are available to sit and just take in the scenery and there is a playground for little ones to enjoy.
