I rented a hybrid bike from the Arlington location to ride the GAP/C&O trail. The bike worked like a beast and the pick-up/drop-off was seamless. My bike had disc brakes, which was a bonus in my book, but not all their rental bikes do. The location is less than a mile from the metro so it was do-able without a car. They deserve an extra star for customer service because I had opted to use my own saddle for the 8 day adventure and forgot to take it with me when I dropped off the bike (doh!). Unfortunately, I had already left town when I realized my error. I contacted the shop by email and they worked with me to ship it back to my home address. The package arrived today and I'm so grateful. Side note for bike campers: if you are bike camping the GAP/C&O, you will want to use your own panniers as the ones BWB supplies are too small to accommodate camping gear. You may want to rig your own fender system as well.

Picked my my new bike yesterday, special order through Big Wheel Bikes. Delivered in perfect condition, test drove and then sales person took time to go over everything with me. It’s been over 20 years since I bought my last bike (Giant) hybrid road bike. Marin more comfortable, forgiving on Canal path. As soon as this snow clears out and temps increase, it’ll be pedal time.

What a great staff and the bikes were well maintained and comfortable, we rode the trail to mount Vernon which is 9 miles from Alexandria. The staff made sure we were aware of slippery bridges and checked brakes, they are located at the end of King Street by the river, highly recommend.

This was the most comfortable bike I have ever rented and they even had little pouches to hold cell phones, etc. The staff really took their time to make sure the bike was properly fitted. Excellent location with easy access to all the trails, Washington DC or Mt Vernon. Very friendly service.
