If you are a group of 4, book a golf cart ahead of time. More convenient to go around the island than biking esp in summer.

This was my favorite lighthouse experience on our entire 11 state vacation to the north east. We were fortunate to capture a sunny day and the property and views couldn’t be any more peaceful. There is a bit of a walk involved from the pay parking lot to the lighthouse but it is absolutely worth it!

The view was amazing. So much history and just an amazing overall visit. A definite must see when in the Portland, Maine area. Highly recommend!

The lighthouse is not open to the public except one day per year and the museum/gift shop is only open mid-May through November. We still enjoyed our visit and walked most of the paths. It was super fog and misting rain so it was the quintessential spooky Maine coast you read about in fiction novels. We went back the next day while it was sunny to see what all we missed. It was stunning.

We spent extra because we thought it would be a nicer hotel and it sadly disappointed. The hallways had electrical issues, maintenance is lacking, beds slide easily, thin walls so you can hear everything, breakfast was decent but not great. Won't be staying there again. Needs work.
