The Rocking Horse Gallery was the highlight of our trip to Fredericksburg today. The owner became an instant friend… a beautiful lady (inside and out) who found her calling. ❤️ The “life size” Paddington was a favorite. A beautiful shop with offerings for young and old. This long-time shop on Caroline Street has dolls for all ages. There are Bears galore, and toys for young children.Everything from the classic Raggedy Ann dolls to the newest green toys for the environmentally-friendly clientele.The owner is quite knowledgeable and friendly, and we enjoyed our shopping experience.

The Rocking Horse Gallery is a specialty shop that sells high-end dolls and teddy bears, as well as average-priced dolls and teddy bears. This is definitely a shop for collectors of the above-mentioned items since many of the items are original works of artists, not mass-produced. There was a W.C. Fields bear, for example. I am by no means an expert on dolls and teddy bears but I could tell this shop is very unique. The current owner, Faylee, has had the shop for 34 years and was very pleasant to converse with. She even gave me a free teddy bear gift bag with leather straps. She informed me that she is not internet savvy, so there is no website for this store. If you're a collector (my wife has Madame Alexander dolls which this store sells) or have young children, you'll want to stop here! I doubt that there are many shops like this one, not in this day and age of high-tech gadgets.
