First Christian Church dates back to the early 19th Century and has survived the intense battles of the American Civil War. Based on the American Restoration Movement, today, it is active in offering both religious and community services. It organizes prayer groups, band and choir practice, reunions and bible study sessions among other activities. It takes a keen interest in the holistic development of children and conducts Sunday school where kids are taught to incorporate the teachings of Bible into daily life. These classes are intertwined with enjoyable activities, thus combining fun with serious Biblical studies.
