tripadvisorWe had a wonderful time today on this gorgeous course on the Nansemond River. We had a wonderful time with friends supporting this great program. They did a great job supporting the program and it was absolutely perfect weather. Course was in great shape.
MoreTwice in the past month had lunch at this fine country club. The first time I ordered barbecue only to fine out they had no barbecue sauce or cold slaw. They used something called carrot slaw which was unacceptable. The second time I went for lunch they had barbecue with barbecue sauce but still no cold slaw. Totally unacceptable.
MoreThis fine golf and country club located on the Nansemond River in Suffolk, VA iseverything one could expect. It's par 72championship course is one of the finest in Hampton Roads.
MoreWe attended a family wedding here on a 100 degree day. They tried to make accommodations for the heat but fell pretty far short. When we got inside to the reception room they were only marginally ready for the guest. Cheese and veggie trays were out but without serving pieces so people started to stick their sweaty hands into the food without regard for the next person. YUCKThe reception food was over-seasoned to say the least. The potatoes were right out of a box. ICKThe wedding cake was served by the millimeter. WHY DIRTY THE PLATE?Overall, I was not impressed by this supposed high-classed club. The clubhouse looks really tired and in need of some refreshing and renewal. Not what I expected when I received the invitation to this wedding. I have given this a 3 out of 5 rating but would likely have given it 2.5 if that had been an option.
MoreThis is a wonderful and affordable private country club, a haven for members and guests. The golf course is extraordinary and has hosted several VSGA sanctioned events. Restaurant Week is going on now featyring a special menu and you do not have to be a member to dine during Restaurant Week.
