I have been coming to this park and pool for 16yrs. It is a huge space located minutes from the Santa Fe Plaza and offers many activities for all ages. The Playground has shaded picnic tables, benches and playstructures for children. The playground does get hot in the summer so I advise going in the morning or taking a towel to set on the slide. There is a HUGE grassy park adjacent to the playground which can be accessed from the playground. There are large cottonwood trees that shade a majority of the park. This part of the park is great for dogs, and if you want to play Frisbee or kickball. You can also set a blanket down and have a picnic lunch. If you prefer a table, there are also tables placed strategically around this park as well. The Santa Fe Walking path also winds its way around this area. There is a soccor field with astroturf next to the park. It is sometimes being used for practice, but is open to the public. My most favorite part is the outdoor pool. There are two pools - one regular pool and one tot pool. These pools are open daily in the summer and have lifeguards on duty at all times. The regular pool has times that are strictly for lap swimming and sometimes there are specific areas and times dedicated to recreational swimming here. This regular pool also has two tube slides as well. The tot pool has different hours...sometimes they coordinate with the regular pool recreation hours, but sometimes they are different. The tot pool has a seperate gated and fenced area which does not get more than 18 deep. It has a frog slide, elephant sprinkler and two mushroom rain water fountains. This is a wonderful area to take even the little infants out. There are grassy areas, tables and lounge chairs in both swimming areas. One downside is that there is no longer food or drink allowed in the pool areas. One upside is that (at the time I am writing this review) it is a pretty cheap activity to do with the kids (0-12yrs - $1.00) (adults - $3.00). There is also a candy and drink machine located in the lobby. Check online for times and rules, but be careful because sometimes they have to close the pool temperate for unscheduled cleaning so just call before you go and enjoy! I highly recommend for locals and tourists alike.. One of the few and great activities and areas to go with your family that is kid friendly and affordable.

this is a great park for children of all ages. it is kind of hard to find (even with gps) but both our 4 year old and our 14 year old girls loved it.
