MoreThe Nature Center is full of well trained staff that will be ahppy to show you around and let you handle some of the animals that they have. The park has camping and picnic facilities and fishing opportunities. There is a very nice hiking trail around the park.
MoreThe Interstate that they constructed along the trail is the sore thumb in this otherwise nice park. Lake is tiny.

MoreOpen normal hours during COVID, $4 for one hour kayak rental. Most boats will be only the $4/hr. Great place to kayak for the first time, esp with younger people; this particular trip pictured was the third time I was on the water at Sandy Bottom. The water doesn’t get all that deep, you can see the bottom from the kayak, you just don’t want to swim in it. Suggestion: bring water shoes!Can’t wait to come back in the fall when the leaves change!
