The Depot Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel is located in a building with a splendid architectural facade, which gives the building a distinctly historical feel. Built as a railroad station over a 100 years ago, the Depot is now a beautifully restored, upscale hotel. The interiors are a successful blend of vintage decor, along with all the modern amenities a modern traveler could ask for. The train shed has been cleverly converted into an ice skating rink much to the delight of families.

Reviews
tripadvisorHere for a conference so the choice for hotel was predetermined by my work. The positives are…Check in was easy and all the employees have been fantastic. The location is great with many things within walking distance since the metro is not operating in Aug. The room is fine. The gym is well equipped and clean. Here are our issues. Our room is on the street side so traffic noises can be very loud, however so far the floor we are on is very quiet. The pool area is super humid and reeks of chlorine and it is very uninviting as the chairs are uncomfortable and the air is stifling. We decided not to try the pool due to over chemical smells. Our toilet was constantly running so we notified the desk and was offered a different room but we didn’t want to move all our stuff. They did fix it the next evening after reminding them it wasn’t fixed. The shower curtain doesn’t close on either end due to the angle of the shower bar so water splashes out on the floor no matter what you due to stop it. Also the toilet is yellow stained which is a turnoff- a little bit of attention to those stains would go a long way. The blackout shades let light seep in around the edges and there is no full curtain to cover the window. Speaking of windows they do open up fully and there are no screens on them so one could simply jump or fall out onto the ground below! Amenities are sparse and the bottled water in the room has a 6$ price tag. And as other people have mentioned there is nothing but a closet and a small bench to put your clothes on. So you either have to hang them, pile them up or live out of your suitcase. For a hotel that acts like it is upscale their rooms fall short.
MoreThe service provided by all employees was excellent. My room was clean and well maintained. Good sleep quality. Very quiet. Room amenities were adequate though not extensive, but I spent most of my time attending a conference. The conference facilities were excellent. Convenient location with easy short walk to the light rail station with transport to airport.
MoreThe hotel staff provided a warm welcome upon arrival, and the check-in process was quick and efficient. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and very clean. Having two restaurants and a coffee shop located in the lobby made my business trip especially convenient, allowing me to enjoy meals and morning coffee without leaving the hotel. The location is also excellent, with numerous restaurants nearby and a Whole Foods within walking distance. Overall, it was a comfortable and convenient stay for both business and leisure travelers.
MoreWe were upgraded to a deluxe double queen room. Not sure how much it differs from the regular, but the room and bathroom were large. The big issue is that lighting is really poor. There is only a tiny closet and no shelves or drawers to store clothing, which is fine if you are only there for a night or living out of the suitcase.
MoreWe stayed here for my daughter's wedding, which was close by at Nicollet Island Pavilion. The self park was great, as there were outside surface spaces secured by a keycard as well as a a garage. The room was a decent size for a city hotel, very clean and nice. It was very quiet at night. We enjoyed the lobby bar at night. The location is great, a nice walk over the Mississippi to explore St. Anthony Main and Northeast or a short walk more into downtown.
