tripadvisorWe did a classic bike tour with Jonas on a Tuesday in October. The weather was perfect. Jonas guided us confidently and safely from Fairmont to the Philadelphia Art Museum, along the river, downtown to Old Town, into the historic section, through three of the four squares, and throughout giving us great history and information. It was exactly what we hoped for. We highly recommend this as a fun and safe activity.
MoreI rented a road bike from them while in Philadelphia. It was tuned as well as my bike back home. Chris set it up with road pedals to match my cleats installed my GPS mount and then had me ride around the block to determine if any final adjustments were needed. I had a great ride up to Valley Forge, through the site and back for 50+ trouble free miles. Highly recommended if you are visiting and can't or don't want to bring your own.
MoreWe like to rent bicycles when we visit new cities and have done so around the U.S. and Europe. This was our best experience ever! The staff was helpful and friendly, the bikes were the most comfortable we've ever ridden on, they came with nice locks and helmets and storage, and Philadelphia is a really great city to ride around! Thanks Fairmount! Highly recommended.
MoreMy fears of cycling in the city were set aside minutes after setting out on a three hour tour of Philadelphia. With safety in mind, Jonas and friend guided us through the busy city with a presentation rich with history and sights demonstrating a definite pride in his city. Bikes and helmets were in good shape and our group went away with a gift of a water bottle.I will be seeking out bike tours in all cities I visit... afraid no more!
MoreWow, beautiful day in Philly for a bike ride. Just discovered Fairmount Bicycles, and what a treat! Showed up, and within 10 minutes I was riding along on a hybrid through the streets. $7/hour for a hybrid, and rode four hours, but you can do a super enjoyable one hour ride along the river, on greenways. Easy access to Boathouse Row, where you can ride upstream along the greenway, or downstream into Center City. I was apprehensive about renting, since I am, admittedly, a bit of a bike snob. That being said, the bike was great for bumpy city streets, handled well. Breaks were in excellent shape, wheels were trued, and the gears were crisp on the shift. No complaints! Staff at check in and check out were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. I'll be back next time I fly into Philly. Go for it!!!
