Reviews
tripadvisorWell sadly this property is nearing the end of its life. People are very nice but the property is in serious decline. The lobby was redone as well as the restaurant but the rooms are so dated, “0” water pressure, complained by was told that is the most pressure there is. Closet doors off the rails, carpets work and the hallway a/c vents are totally black and never cleaned. Controls for heat/ac go in and off like an electrical short. As a lifetime titanium member 32 years and 3200 nights it’s sad to see this but a more common event these days. Won’t return
MoreI will start by saying you can read some of my other hotel reviews and see that I have high expectations of cleanliness, safety and comfort for hotel stays. And I want to make it clear the Renaissance St. Louis Airport met my expectations. The front desk staff was extremely welcoming and friendly, the restaurant was amazing, and I slept very well. Sleeping well is a bit of a miracle for me because I don’t sleep well, especially the first night in a new hotel. But I was extremely comfortable and truly had one of the best nights sleep I’ve had in a long time.I typically read review reviews before I stay somewhere, but was there for an emergency situation and a coworker had selected the hotel so I did no research. If I read reviews I would not have stayed there, and I would have missed out! I was pleasantly surprised at the overall stay. After reading recent reviews, it’s like I was at a different hotel. I liked the lobby and the spotlight on the artist of the month. I enjoyed the donut holes that were passed around early in the morning before I left for my day. They were delicious.I also thoroughly enjoyed the Panko chicken at Eeros. So much so I had it two nights in a row. The service was exceptional. The food was fresh. It was not warmed over canned or frozen food. It was fantastic. The other thing to know is that I have reflux so bad with restaurant food, but I did not have the least bit of stomach discomfort or reflux after eating at the hotel restaurant two days in a row. And I surprisingly cleaned my plate twice and fully expected to be up sick all night but instead I slept extremely well without issue so this is really big deal that is a combination between the restaurant and the hotel comfort.Everybody I encountered that worked at the hotel was exceptional. The only two things I would note the bathroom sink was not fully cleaned. There was hair from somebody shaving on the wall of the sink opposite the mirror. And the desk chair was quite disgusting with stains. But those are small details that just need some attention and awareness.Would I stay there again… absolutely. Maybe the hotel took feedback from the negative reviews and made changes which is a great sign of management and leadership.Great job and thank you.
MoreThe Renaissance St. Louis Airport is, without question, one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had. I struggle to understand how this property continues to operate under the Renaissance brand. Based on my experience, it falls woefully short of the standards and expectations that brand represents. From the moment I arrived, the condition of the property was appalling. The hotel felt stale, musty, and frankly, disgusting. Flies were buzzing around the lobby bar, while the exterior entrance was filthy, littered with cigarette butts and what appeared to be decades of chewing gum embedded in the concrete. First impressions matter, and this property makes an exceptionally poor one.The check-in experience was equally frustrating. Five team members, including the manager, were gathered around the front desk, yet only one person was actively checking in guests. The others appeared to be making every effort to avoid eye contact with waiting customers. Whether intentional or not, the impression was that customer service was something to be avoided rather than embraced. That is unacceptable for a hotel of this brand. The lounge was another disappointment. It was messy and dirty, and on an exceptionally hot day, the beer was locked behind a giant padlock, seemingly just out of reach and unavailable to guests. It was an absurdly poor hospitality experience when a comfortable, welcoming lounge should have been an opportunity to redeem an otherwise disappointing stay. The physical condition of the hotel only reinforced the impression of neglect. The elevators, hallways, and guest rooms were badly outdated, giving the property the feel of a time capsule from 1989. My room door would not close properly on its own. I had to forcefully pull it shut, and opening it was just as much of a struggle. These are basic maintenance issues that should never make it into a guest’s experience, much less go unresolved at a hotel carrying the Renaissance name.As an Ambassador-level elite member who has spent more than 25 years traveling for business and staying in hotels around the world, I have experienced a wide range of properties and service standards. This hotel ranks among the very worst. My expectations are not unreasonable. Cleanliness, functional facilities, attentive service, and basic hospitality should be the minimum, not premium amenities. This property is a significant disappointment and a poor reflection on the Renaissance brand. The issues go far beyond dated decor. They point to fundamental failures in cleanliness, maintenance, service, and management. I would not recommend this hotel, and I would think twice before booking another stay here.Marriott and Renaissance should take a serious look at this property. It needs far more than cosmetic improvements. It needs a fundamental reset in how the hotel is maintained, managed, and how guests are treated.
MoreThe property has absolutely no security, if you value your vehicle don't stay there. Parked my vehicle in front of the hotel and it was vandalized about $ 700.00. When I complained they pointed to the sign that says they're not responsible. They apparently have minimal security, please don't park there this was august of 2026.
MoreI was extremely disappointed with my stay. The accommodations were poorly maintained and did not meet basic cleanliness or comfort expectations. To make matters worse, there was moldy cheesecake sitting out in the lobby, which was both unappetizing and concerning from a health and sanitation standpoint. The staff was also unfriendly and unhelpful throughout our visit. Instead of feeling welcomed, we felt like an inconvenience whenever we had a question or needed assistance.Overall, the poor accommodations, lack of cleanliness, and unfriendly customer service made for a very unpleasant experience. I would not recommend staying here, and I hope management takes these issues seriously.
