Reviews
tripadvisorThe location is not bad but far from great. The room was clean and updated. We stayed for 1 week. The manager, Kimball was extremely nice when we met and looked at the rooms. Our plan was to stay here for an extended time ( several months). We checked in on Saturday and the ac was not working properly so we had to sweat it out till Monday afternoon seeing that the office is closed on Sundays. Kimball, was not very friendly at all about our situation even telling us that the ac was supposed to work this way. I have been a technician for 31 years so I informed him that the ac was not supposed to turn off while the room got to 78 degrees before it attempted to cool it back off and then he noticed I had a camera in the room. He brought a new ac unit and our ac worked great then. They clean rooms and do a “security check” on Thursdays so we left a note on the table asking to please not clean anything to only do the check as we would clean our own room. They came in our room, removed the note from the table, unplugged my camera and pilfered through our stuff like thieves. My wife’s underwear was moved and now Kimball is treating us worse. I have called corporate and left several messages but nobody has returned the calls yet. This guy, Kimball, the manager, has several bad reviews with this place. We will be looking for legal action against him and the staff for invading our privacy and handling our private stuff. Kimball needs to be arrested. He’s a thief, a liar and apparently a pervert. I would suggest placing a HIDDEN camera in your room so you can catch him and the staff doing what they do. I’ve added photos. The one is hard to see but it’s the second roach we’ve seen here in a week.
MoreI made my reservation for Intown Suites online, and traveled from the Dayton, Ohio area (where I currently reside) to the Macon, Georgia location to visit my family for my 21st birthday. Upon checking in to this location, I encountered a couple of minor issues - those being a minor repair needed in the room, which was a loose cabinet and the staff not returning my ID Card upon check-in and having to wait until the next day to retrieve my ID card back. The staff are really nice and accommodating to our needs. The Premium Suite that we chose had a 50” flat screen TV with an adjustable mount, an A/C unit that works wonders, a tub/shower, a built-in hot plate/stove, a sink, and a full-sized refrigerator. This location does have an elevator, so all accommodations for disabled persons will not be an issue. I will state, I was honestly surprised with the amenities. I was expecting a lot less for what I paid for. After 24 hours of being checked in, I heard a knock on my door around 9:00 AM to see a couple of staff personnel checking in on myself and my wife to see how we were enjoying our stay so far, in which we stated we liked it so far - we’re not picky people. A couple of days came and went, and we heard housekeeping knock on our door to see if we needed anything, which leads to my next statement… THIS LOCATION IS A LIMITED SERVICE FACILITY. They do not supply toilet papers or towels. Please bring your own supplies if you plan on being on site for more than 48 hours. There is no pool on site, but there is a water park 15 minutes away, Sandy Beach Water Park - which was AMAZING. They have a wave pool, a big slide, a regular pool, and a lazy river (Bring your own floaties for the lazy river, most of the floaties there are deflated and as of 06/2022 their air compressor doesn’t work.) Either way, back to my review. The neighbors in the room to our left were loud and obnoxious multiple times during our stay and we also detected the odor of marijuana that we traced back to their Suite, whereas the gentleman in the room to our right was a gentle soul that was quiet and kept to himself, other than introducing himself to us and chatting for a few minutes. Now, I will state that this location is in a bad part of town. Please keep your door closed unless you are going to be outside your room briefly. I encourage having some sort of item for self defense just to be safe, 2A recommended. You never know what will happen to you or your family with the world we live in today. Intown Suites is budget friendly, I paid around $380 for a Premium Suite for a week. Other than what I’ve stated, there’s nothing further to state about this Intown Suites location. Overall, I rate this location a 6/10. Could be better, but you get what you pay for. It’s a nice place to lay your head for a week.
MoreI'm from out of town and this place was the cheapest in town. I'm originally from the city so I figured it was going to be a dump. I was pleasantly surprised with my living conditions. It's basically a furnished studio apartment with housekeeping. Granted there our some cons (very minor ones, but hey I grew up poor so those cons really don't mean much to me) but to me the pros outweigh them. Plus, I'm just here to rest after a long day of work. This gets the job done so it gets a pass from me.
MoreUpon moving to Macon, my fiancé and I stayed here while looking for a place to move to. To say that this building should be shut down and management replaced is a true understatement. First off, management allows the residents of the property to use illegal drugs, namely marijuana, even when their “rules and regulations” states illegal drug use is prohibited. When reported to management, their response is “There is nothing we can do about it.” (Yes, there is something you can do about it; YOU CAN KICK THE OFFENDERS OFF THE PROPERTY AND CALL LAW ENFORCEMENT! Secondly, make sure you check the crime reports from the area and sex offender registry; as of last check, there are eight sex offenders residing in the property, with a majority of them being registered for child related sexual crimes. And they have families residing there!!! During the month of April, an unknown person activated the fire alarm system between 3:00 and 5:00 am with no fire occurring, and someone attempted to set the building on fire in the last few days of April, putting everyone, including a disabled man in a wheelchair, at risk of either being burned or inhaling smoke. Did management do anything about it? Nope. No law enforcement investigation, no law enforcement called. (We later found out that another resident was kicked off the property for setting a fire and we believe this is the person who was falsely activating the fire alarm system and who may have set the fire in late April.) The cockroach issue, as reported in prior reviews, is still there. Although they do have an exterminator, he doesn’t do much except spray chemicals or use glue boards, and that’s it. (I’ve uploaded a photo of a glue board that was placed in my room; you make your own judgement on how bad the issue is but note that this is a glue board placed three days earlier!) Management needs to be replaced at this location; they are very lackadaisical on security, maintenance for the cockroach issue, and for all around customer service. I would strongly suggest staying very far away from this location and going further south to Warner Robins.
MoreThe room had a heavy cockroach infestation that management did nothing to remedy even after several days after my initial complaint, and they also refused to give me another room to stay in. I killed at least two to five cockroaches a night during my stay. No offers of partial refund or rate reductions were offered by management. Once they have your money, they cease giving a damn about what goes on in their facilities. The condition of the room was run-down and in disrepair. A lot of the appliances were in misuse or in a non-functional state. The only things that technically did work were the television and the AC, which emitted a lovely freon smell most nights. Paint on the walls was moldy, and the carpet was almost dirty enough to feel sticky if you were walking on it barefoot. The bed itself was somewhat comfortable as far as extended stay hotel furniture goes, only far more cockroachy than what I would have preferred. This hotel is also located in a declining neighborhood, so your options for stocking the kitchenette mostly consists of whatever low-end grocery stores or junkfood from whichever Dollar Tree or Dollar General are located nearby. There's a Wendy's and a McDonalds very close by. If you're not opposed to eating like a feral raccoon and can sustain yourself off of a diet entirely of garbage, then these factors will not bother you. To sum up my experience here: If your only options are to sleep in your car or check into this hotel, then sleep in your car. Trust me.
