tripadvisorWe stopped here on the way between Greensboro and Fayettevilel WV. Nice park. All we really did was the short walk around the pond, but it was sunny and the birds were singing, so it was a nice walk. Looks like they have some shelters and fire pits in that part of the park. Pretty will the flowering trees all bloomed. Place was quiet and peaceful. Especially on an early Friday morning.
MoreThe short trail around the lake is alright, but the other trails aren’t properly marked and it’s very easy to get lost.
MoreHaw River is one of the newest state parks and is still in a state of development. The park's primary feature is The Summit Conference Center. Additionally there are a couple miles of hiking trails at the visitor center and Iron Ore Belt access. We took our dog to hike the trails. There are some nice views of the upper Haw River and the expansive wetlands. We'll visit again as the park becomes more developed.
