tripadvisorWe took a walk to see the outside exhibits at the Alviso Adobe Community Park. This is an old dairy farm. There are ranch buildings, a historic forest, and other exhibits to see. Its free to visit.
MoreI went to Alviso Adobe Community Park, which is a historic dairy site. The day I was there there were several school groups doing projects and having fun. There are nice views of the area from the park. There is a museum that describes the Meadowlark Dairy that used to be there. There are exhibits in the museum which used to be the milking barn. There is the home and also bunkhouse to see. There is also the orchard area. Staff are nice and also fun loving and informative. Parking and admission are both free.
MoreIf you are in to history, this is a must on your list for local history! Nice little museum loaded with artifacts, old photos, and printed narratives of what life was like, way back in the good ol' days! The displays were well presented and easy to understand. If you've never been there, you owe yourself an hour to discover what you've been missing and a chance to broaden your knowledge of Amador Valley history.
MoreAre you looking for something interesting to do with your young children out doors and away from electronics. Take a trip back to Pleasanton's past by visiting the Alviso Adobe Park. It has lovely gardens, plenty of room for young legs to run and offers both naturalist activities and farming information. Let them try milking a cow, stroking the pelts of native animals, identifying bones. The rangers offer a whole host of programs appealing to various ages. And I love the map display of how the valley looked 100 years ago. It's not too big, not too small, just right and it is right off Foothill road in Pleasanton. Go visit.
MoreI have taken my son here with the scouts and they got a wonderful tour. If you are new to the area and have young children it is a must see. It's also a great place for photography.
