tripadvisorIt’s a nice park, but not only do you have to pay $5 to get in, but you aren’t allowed to take photos without paying a fee that is FIFTY dollars. Avoid that kind of price gouging on general principle.
MoreHad some time to explore on day so packed up the dogs and headed out. This was one of our stops. Five dollar admission, but I gave in. Plenty of trails and was surprised by the cliffs . Not the Grand Canyon, but a pleasant place to bike or kayak. Didn't really meet our needs forbthe day due to the recent heavy rain, but glad I visited and checked it out.
MoreReluctant to divulge one of my favorite places. I live close by and this is truly a photographers dream. The sunsets are dynamic. The natural cliffs are beautiful and fun to watch the various boaters from the top of the cliff. It's a place that my kids love too. Unfortunately, I must add that you need to be careful with broken glass and pollution. I will never understand why people pollute. Best to wear shoes (not flip flops).
MoreThis is a relatively small park in the Grapevine system. If you are a BRAVE Mountain Biker, this is a great trailhead. The floods from 2013 and 14 hit it hard. The good thing is that a lot of the amenities have been replaced with new stuff. It has a unique view...up on a rock ledge of sorts. They were having trouble years ago with a lot of people coming in as a group and taking all the space and sort of intimidating other guests. Not badly, just a little. So they started to charge per car, like $5 and that stopped instantly. it is nice now! Hot days with sunsets will be hard to bear at this park. I would do AM or lunch time. Hope this helps! If so, please give a helpful vote.
MoreFirst there are access points at Murrell Park in flower mound that are free. I never imagined I would find a spot in DFW that truly fulfill my expectation of a nature trail. I usually drive to lake texoma or 3 hours to the ouachita mountains. I drove by this every day for years and underestimated how wonderful it could be. Beautiful rock bluffs, old growth forests, elevation changes, serene even though it’s under a dfw Landing path. And only 20 minutes from my home in Frisco. You have to watch out for mountain bikers but they’re generally polite. If you want some zen in the city, try these trails. They are moderately difficult trails so one needs to be in reasonable shape to attempt a full hike.
