I went there to see a couple of Cinderella and the Sleeping Beauty Russian Ballet. Both musicals were good, and the seating was quite comfortable. I was seated in different areas of the theatre, but must say that I had good views on both occasions. While this is a nice venue, it could do for some minor updates. Even if that never takes place soon, I'd recommend Givens for seeing any kind of show.

Givens Performing Arts Center offers the best of broadway without the trip to NYC. The center offers a great Broadway and More Series which features the best of Broadway. The center also offers great university and community theatre opportunities.

It's a large place that's hosted many great artists in the past. However, it seems that most of the acts that are booked are catering more to the AARP audience. You have doo-wop groups from the 50's and 60's, B list actors from the 70's, and other middle-of-the-road acts. There's nothing too diverse or edgy or avant garde and perhaps that just reflects the surrounding town and county which is pretty rural.

Let me start off by saying GPAC is constantly overlooked by the locals. They offer a great variety of show types ranging from ballet, off broadway musicals and different stage performances to name a few. The theater is constantly being updated and is always clean. The staff is amazing. My wife and I attend at least one show per season and we are never disappointed.
