tripadvisorWe stayed at the Inn in June 2023 while on a motorcycle trip. We found the inn very nice. The staff was very helpful and the amenities were very nice. We decided to celebrate our anniversary recently(October) in Charleston with a trip to our favorite jazz club. So we returned to the Inn. The Inn is close to the market street city market , the waterfront park, cruise terminal and the lovely downtown area. It is a very safe area for walking even in the evening. The Inn has some lovely amenities including a happy hour, continental breakfast and cookies and coffee in the evening. There is a hot tub and a beautiful garden area where you can enjoy a quiet retreat in a usually busy part of town. This is an historic Inn, so while the rooms are updated you will still have those things that come with older homes. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and work hard to make your stay comfortable. You will have to pay to park your vehicle. You can use the hotel’s parking rate or there is a parking garage just a block away. When you arrive you can park briefly at the front door and the staff will help you unload while you check in. No, it’s not the cheapest stay in town but we enjoy the convenience of staying where we can park the car and leave it parked until we leave. Staying at the Inn gives you a chance to really enjoy the history of this town.
MoreThe grounds, though small, were pretty and well cared for. Same was true for room. “Breakfast” and afternoon wine/appetizers very basic but ok. Staff were all very pleasant, helpful and accommodating. The location is terrific - central to many things you can walk to & tons of restaurants. Overall a nice place to stay.
MoreMy husband and I loved this place, especially the location, which is at the entrance to the market. We also loved how they went out of their way to help us celebrate our anniversary with champagne and chocolates! We also appreciate the wine and cheese and breakfast. The only thing I was a little disappointed by was the jacuzzi, because the water was tepid and not hot.
MoreFun, educational experience. Inn typified the architecture and ambience of historic Charleston. Quaint room with 4 post bed. Daily breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese. Walking distance to many historical sites and short driving distance to others. Several restaurants close by. Staff was cordial and inviting and would visit again.
MoreOld historic place. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice little breakfast in the morning which varies daily. Limited seating in the lobby but when warm enough there are plenty of tables on the patio. Warm cookies during the day. Lemonade, coffee, tea available all day. Very nice wine and cheese happy hour daily. Room was very comfortable with queen bed. Bed was high for us short people but a stepstool was provided. Two chairs were in the room which is so much better than sitting on the bed. Our room had a small balcony in the back. Rooms were very clean. Very close to the Market and within walking distance to a variety of good restaurants. Very enjoyable stay!
