tripadvisorWe stopped by here after brunch. I'm not a big contemporary art fan but this gallery is small enough to take it all in in not a lot of time.My daughter's former roommate had a small studio here where she fabricated garment designs. I recognized one of their friends who was the subject of a portrait there! The C of C crowd. The art displayed throughout has brief descriptions about the artists which was helpful, too.Worth spending a few leisurely minutes.
MoreRedux is a fabulous venue for taking art courses. I've been going to their Sunday drop-in figure drawing classes whenever we're in Charleston, and they are well run, congenial, and professional. The models are top rate. Redux also has an ongoing gallery with a variety of well curated smaller shows. The people are gracious. The prices/rates reasonable.
MoreThis was a great evening experiencing flute music with an interactive art component. The flutist displayed the artistic products created by passengers waiting for their train and played the same pieces for this audience. Equipped with markers and paper the audience was encouraged to draw what images and colors they hear. The results were remarkably reminiscent. This artist has a passion for helping others fully experience the music and frees the listener to create. Redux is a working gallery with art to enjoy and artists at work. Free and open to the public it is definitely worth a stop-a gift shop is planned for the future.
