tripadvisorNice clean open air Outlet. We were able to joy the space and do some shopping. The Grunt store never fails to exceed out expectations and was the main reason we traveled to this set of outlets.
MoreWe were at both Myrtle Beach Tanger Outlets. The one on Hwy 501 was our first choice because it has a Levi‘s store. What a mistake. We did not buy one single item at the 501 mall. It‘s falling apart, many shops are closed, and there are almost no shoppers left either. The mall has a weird layout, there is no logical path if you plan to see all shops. Our visit to the Hwy 17 outlet sister was much more successful. It has a good vibe, all stores are open and it attracts plenty of customers. Ok, it was an expensive morning, but worth it.
MoreBeware shopping at the As seen on TV store at Tanger. They have a no refunds sign which apparently even applies to broken merchandise. My son bought a round rubix cube type toy and opened it as we were leaving the store. In the box was one of the pieces from one of the sides and it could not be put back on. We turned and went right back in and asked for an exchange; however, it was the only one so we couldn't get another. I then asked my son to look around the store for anything else he wanted for the same price and he didn't find anything he wanted. Given that the item was broken when purchased, and there weren't any more, I asked for a refund. I was refused. The employee called the manager who also refused and told us to pick something else. I was upset and asked repeatedly for a refund at which point I was told I could call the police if I wanted. Rather than continue to make a scene, I had my son pick a couple fidgets to make up the price and left. Won't make that mistake twice!
MoreWe went to walk around and get out a little walking. We found the Lee/Wrangler outlet. It is fantastic. We found good buys and nice styles. We brought our friends back the next day...great day.
MoreHundreds of stores which were situated in a large strip mall. We visited on a very windy day and the configuration of the outdoor stores blocked the wind - while we meandered through a few of the stores. I ended up purchasing a Champion track suit at Hanesbrands for $70 (tax included.). The store salesperson was quite helpful and offered to assist by fetching me different sizes of a track suit which I liked. The pretzel store was a bit expensive in that they wanted $7.50 for a cup of pretzel nuggets with cinnamon. We opted for the whole salted pretzel which still cost 5.50. Lastly, the Tanger outlets are no great bargain in that Sales tax exceeded 12% in the strip mall.
