The hotel has good parking and offers a buffet breakfast. The people working in the breakfast area are great, especially Maggie and Maria. The negative is that the parlor rooms have TVs that are very small. Also, there is a fine for people smoking in the room or balcony, however, someone is usually trying to get by with smoking on the balcony, and we found this out from someone on lower floor.

My family has been going to the Ocean Reef Resort for almost twenty years. We've seen the transformation of this hotel from being dated to being upgraded, especially the pool area. This year we were in one of the 3br condos in the south tower. This is the first year I can honestly say that we were disappointed in the condition of the hotel. We had a wonderful time in spite of our condo needing a serious rehab, if nothing else, a coat of paint goes a long way. And it wasnt just our condo, the whole hotel needs painted and cleaned up. The carpets in the hallways were filthy. The tile on the floor in the lobby areas of the hotel were very slippery and my son saw an older lady fall as a result. They have heavy duty fans in several locations to try and keep the floor dry, but why? Texture the floor so you don't slip on it, simple solution and get rid of those ugly fans. Out of five elevates, on Saturday, check out day for some, only two were working. There were people walking down twelve floors to get to the lobby with their luggage, unacceptable. The pool area is still very nice but the lazy river walls are also filthy and has a multitude of broken tiles on it. With everything i've said i will go back next year and hopefully the management staff and corporate owners will take into account what we are saying in our reviews. For what we pay to stay there, we deserve a nicer hotel.

They asked for my credit card at the bar and gave it to the wrong person. Jennifer M. was the manager responsible for help me and she was poor in customer service dept. They have not told me 3 days latter that spoken to the accounting dept. to review this. Do not use the bar or restaurant poor service,

I first want to say that the majority of the staff we encountered at the property was friendly. We initially agreed to book 2 nights at Ocean Reef after their sister property Caribbean Resort was fully booked. I ask at checkin if the rooms were renovated. I saw on the website that some rooms were not renovated. I was told yes the room was renovated. Upon walking in the room we were immediately met with a musky and unpleasant odor. When we cut the lights on our hearts sank that the room was not renovated! Carpet is filthy! We had drove 4 hours from Ga and we were hungry and tired! We ask the next morning if any compensation could be given for the night in the room. The resort manager Stephanie would not come out to speak at all. The supervisor told us she had denied the request for any compensation for the night endured. I was able to checkout and not pay for the 2nd night. However this is a warning for anyone going to this resort! Review the photos! This was room 310. The elevators were broken and the hallways/carpets were filthy. We were charged $230 for one night in a room that really isn't fit to stay in. The hotel employees even stated that they wouldn’t want to stay in that room. I do not recommend anyone staying at this resort unless you don’t mind staying in an outdated room/property that smells. The only good thing is the location and having a room with an oceanfront balcony.

So far I like the place we are staying. The only thing I don’t care for is slow elevators. On Wednesday, I waited over 15 minutes on the 8th floor. One elevator was shut down. If it wasn’t necessary to shut them down this time of year, it would be helpful. I also realize if it had to be worked on now, there was no choice.
